Leading UX efforts to audit, restructure, and streamline platforms across multiple business verticals.

Supporting large-scale migration to a new design system, with the goal of delivering a more consistent, scalable, and user-centered experience across Fidelity’s native mobile and web platforms.

Overview

At Fidelity Investments, I led critical UX efforts to unify fragmented digital experiences across multiple business verticals. This initiative supported the adoption of a centralized design system aimed at increasing consistency, usability, and scalability across platforms—particularly within Fidelity’s flagship mobile application.

The Challenge

Over time, Fidelity’s expansive product ecosystem had evolved with siloed experiences, inconsistent components, and varied nomenclature. This complexity impacted both user experience and operational efficiency. 

The challenge was to standardize UX across teams, streamline user flows, and develop a cohesive foundation that could scale with the growth of Fidelity’s many verticals, products and services.

My Role

At the time, Fidelity was using five different design systems. I led UX audits across platforms to identify design system inconsistencies to spearhead their migration efforts. 

Along with any assignment, I was also meticulous in documenting accessibility issues, usability gaps, inconsistencies in information architecture or navigation, reducing cognitive overload, and revealing opportunities for simplification in the user flows.

Redesigning the flagship mobile app flows, with a focus on improving clarity and efficiency in high-use areas like budgeting and cash flow

Defining naming conventions to support scalable, system-wide taxonomy

Collaborating with cross-functional teams—including product managers, attending meetings with engineering, and content strategists—to ensure alignment and adoption

Creating a standard and a template for documentation and migration guides to streamline onboarding and support and long-term governance

Contributing to user research efforts, including usability testing and interviews, to ground design decisions in real-world behavior and business context

Outcomes

Over the course of this project, I helped significantly elevate the quality, consistency, and scalability of Fidelity’s digital experiences. By leading UX audits, optimizing key mobile workflows, and driving the adoption of a unified design system, I enabled our teams to work more efficiently and deliver more cohesive, user-centered products. 

I also collaborated across departments to align design strategy with business goals, create sustainable documentation, and ensure long-term system governance. These contributions strengthened the foundation of our digital ecosystem and positioned Fidelity teams for continued success and growth.

Reflection

This project sharpened my ability to lead design at scale within highly regulated, enterprise environments. It reinforced the value of deep collaboration, thoughtful system design, and user-centered thinking— 
all of which I’m excited to bring to my next role.
