NBC, E! News CMS

Building a content management system that efficiently pushes out a variety of content on the newly responsive E! News site, E! app, and other various platforms.

Objectives

Work with the editorial, product and dev teams, and other key stakeholders to design a CMS that creates the most efficient work-flow for an editorial department to push out quick and developing news stories and media content across multiple platforms

Goals

Create a page library, a page layout template library, and a widget builder system working within a responsive grid across the E! News site and other platforms to ensure an efficient editorial workflow. Create a pattern library for the development department to pull from so we can work parallel with
each other.

Process

Understand the currently utilized CMS, conduct competitor research, consistently create surveys and questionnaires for the editorial department to provide qualitative and quantitative feedback, create site maps, user flows. Design low-fidelity and high-fidelity wireframes and mock-ups to key stakeholders to receive sign-off, and iterate on ideas and UI currently in a testing environment.
